neXt Receives OAC Grant

Posted Nov 29th, 2012 in In the News

Good news came in the mail today in the form of a letter from the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) announcing that neXt Company Theatre has been awarded a Theatre Projects Production grant to assist in the staging of our upcoming show, Khalida.

The decision was made by a jury that carefully reviewed 107 applications in the context of OAC's Strategic Plan, the program criteria, the range of applications within the program and the program budget. Projects were assessed based on artistic merit, impact and viability as described in the Theatre Projects guidelines. Ultimately, 34 grants were awarded.

The jury was made up of artists and art professionals with broad knowledge and experience of theatre practice, and diverse cultural backgrounds and regional perspectives.

Over the past year, the OAC has been working hard to raise awareness of the importance of public support of to the arts... an effort that we, in the Niagara Region Cultural Community, greatly appreciate.

Thank you to the OAC for supporting the arts in Niagara!

Brock Congress 2014

  • A vintage cabaret with urban spice. A perfect blend of talents from the Niagara Region. A taste of song, theatre, dance, circus and, of course, wine! It was sexy, raunchy, scandalous and every bit of fun to the last sip.
